Apply to be a host

Below is the application form for the opportunity to host international students from the University of Derby. This is a fantastic way to be able to informally welcome students from overseas to the UK and even build friendships with them. Perhaps you could invite them for Sunday lunch? How about an evening meal and a board game? Maybe if the weather is nice you could offer to take them on a trip to Chatsworth House or Kedleston Hall! Through our hosting scheme you will be linked up with one or more students to arrange a one-off visit/trip. Beyond this you have no ongoing commitment to the student(s) although you are welcome to arrange to host them again in the near future if they would like.
Before applying, please make sure you read the Friends International code of conduct (where you see ‘Friends International’, please assume it also binds for ‘St Alkmund’s Church’. Some hosts will be invited to a short training evening where there will be the opportunity to ask questions about the scheme. This initiative is run by The Meeting Place, a ministry of St Alkmund’s Church, who are using the Friends International hosting scheme.
