18-30s at St Alkmunds
Whether you're a student, graduate, young professional, job-hunter (list not exhaustive), we want to be a community which follows Jesus authentically, loves God passionately and is empowered by the Holy Spirit to live missionally. There are a wide variety of things going on for 18-30s at St Alks and we're always up for giving new ideas a try. What we do is geared around community, friendship, discipleship, and mission. These are fuelled by prayer, worship and more discipleship. The 18-30s network is overseen by Ben, our Lay Pioneer Pastor. Have a browse below to check out what's going on at the moment.
Tabernacle groups are the heartbeat of our life together. We meet at different times throughout the week, and because of the different nature of the groups often follow their own programs. There are two Tabernacle groups, 'Food For Thought' meets twice a month on Sundays for lunch after the morning service. The other, 'Home', meets on Wednesdays and is currently doing the Pilgrim Course.
We encourage students to be part of the wider Tabernacle network as we believe that integrating as part of the wider body of Christ is important for our growth as disciples of Jesus. If you're a student Ben would love to get to know you and discover how we can make your time here in Derby and at St Alkmund's as good as it can be. We are passionate about helping you become the person God has created you to be, so whether or not you're a Christian, maybe you're not bothered about church any more or have loads of questions you've never been able to ask, you will find an all-embracing, non-judgemental welcome here.
We also run annual courses for those preparing to go to university.
